UV Joints

My universal joint broke on the way home from work today...i replaced it on the side of the road and put two snap rings in it...they were the two that go in the driveshaft...are you suppose to put them in on the strap side??? It came with 4 but when i took it off the only ones there were the ones hat were on the driveshaft...

snap ring joints should go through shaft end where there are holes part of the shaft where there is no strap to remove.

Man I put in universal joint but it fell out by the time I came home any suggestions??

wow a 27 month thread revival here. if you mean the end caps it sound like the retainer clip rings were no installed. got pics?

Well they were still on there one of those end caps came off it looked like. So the mechanic put another one on! I have to get it greased now because he did not grease but a little. I want to put it on a lift now too. So I can get a better view
