I've done 8 used oil analysis on our 07 6.2L in the past 6+ yrs between the odometer readings of 130k & 195k miles. And I've used 0w20, 0w40, 5w30, 5w40, & 10w30 viscosities.
for a long happy healthy engine life.
is oil change intervals no greater than 6k miles and use top tier syntheic oil(s).

I waste a lot of synthetic oil with 3000 Miles oil changes ..... But we're somewhere around 180,000 miles on my wife's L94 with AFM deleted..... And it's never used a drop of oil in 3000 miles. Mobile one 5W30 for the first 120,000 miles, Valvoline 5W-30 high mileage since then. Still runs like new. LOL, She drives it like a school bus, and I don't think she's ever had it over 2,200 RPM! I had to push her once just to give it half throttle and it scared her.... hilarious.

I wish I kneiw the past owners of mine. engine wise it looks flawless inside. got it at 135k, got 166k on it now. afm still intact just turned off and vented oil passageways. don't think they touched anything but changed oil. love to know what oil they used and how often. it's really clean inside and afm worked when I got it. and the afm is super active in the hybrids. when now that I think about it, I wonder if that's why they use a different oil pump and much higher oil pressure at all times, the thing could go into afm just off idle and charge the battery while in electric mode. huh. always wondered why it's the only ls that came with a variable displacement pump.

5k chargers don't show any loss on the stick but do get a few oz in the catch can. so I'm sure it's using a touch. I'm hoping for 300k without having to pull the heads haha. fingers crossed
