My alarm components can control two power windows for shutting, opening and venting. Normally most people use it on the fronts but I was thinking to do the rear doors being as how they do not have door lock switches for some one to poke at thru an opening and very difficult to access the fronts. I have a wide array of sensors such as proximity, impact, ultrasonic, tilt and glass breakage however I am looking at the rare possibility that if I had a complete failure of the system it would still be very difficult for someone to open a door without being noticed. I am planning for a 1 inch vent setting so far. Any thoughts?

The only thought I have is you must have had your shit broken into before... Haha. I think you've pretty much got it all secure. But as far as the window venting goes, I think your idea is a good one to prevent anyone from getting inside through the open window

not broken into yet but just trying to come up with a good plan to foil someone who would try.

Yea I know what you mean. What kind of alarm did you get? I recently got the nice viper alarm and Im very impressed with it. Plus I love how if Im within a mile of my truck (and once I get the iphone adapter I can be anywhere) and someone breaks in and sets off the alarm, my remote tells me that its going off and it tells me if it was the hood, tilt, door, or rear hatch sensor that tripped.

OK I hope its through and not threw. LOL Sorry I couldn't resist! I think it is a great idea to do it on the rear window. Your logic is sound and well thought out. A 1 inch vent seems like enough and it would require a very thin stiff rod to get to the locks. Not many people walking around with that stuff.

Now just dont throw stuff at your windows or truck in general.

Clifford Avantguard 5.1 w/itellistart, smart-windows, proximity, shock, tilt ultrasonic, glass sensors, self powered siren, three programmable outputs, I think about ten zones total. I will pick up the computer interface as well since I have the dealer version of programming software. I have always used clifford systems. I hope to wire it in a few weeks. I am being held up waiting on some other parts for audio/video system so as to do it all at once.

You are correct. I have spent so much time on technical things I have forgotting how to spell and grammer properly. I can't even sign my name anymore. It just looks like a really bad roller coaster layout.
