Hello, this is my first post, and i really hope somebody can shed some light to me and help me figure out what my problem is, and if it's something I can fix without having to go to the mechanic.

I am having a problem with my 2003 chevy tahoe. when automatic headlights turn on, or manually turn them on the cruise control stops working, if the brake pedal is push, the rear and mirror signals illuminate(same on dash) , if I turn on my blinkers, all of my back, mirror and front turn signals flash, and if i press brake while blinkers are on, all of the blinker lights stop blinking and illuminate.

when headlights are off, the cruise control works, and blinkers work also. but if brake pedal is pressed while blinkers are on, I can still see that one side flashes and the other lights up, but to a point where you can hardly notice.

also when I turn my hazard lights, i have no rear lights.

I have checked all fuses and bulbs, i don't know what the problem may be. please help.

and thanks again for the fast reply, I really hope I can fix the problem since u cannot use the truck at night because of it. starting new job out of town soon, and winter is here, so I really need the truck working, my car isn't very good in snow.

Yes, that is the part. The only reason I said that switch is because it controls so many things related to what you are experiencing. In no way shape or form am I guaranteeing this to fix your problems. It should be checked by a qualified tech but my best guess is that switch and likely others on here will say the same. Good luck.

Sounds like you have a short somewhere in that turn signal lever. It does do a lot. I would try taking it out and examining the wiring for any damaged/shorted wires. If you can't find anything, get a replacement.

You may also check under dash for any tampering of wires/harnesses by previous owners or mechanics.

I will try to check it. also would it have anything to do with the brake pedal switch since when I press on the brake I can see my turn signals illuminate or would it be caused by the same problem?

Look under dash to see if pedal is catching on anything such as loose wire.

Even brake light functions go through the multi switch so that the system will allow one side to flash while the brake lights are on.

Not sure if the 2000+ is like the 1999, but I had a quirky problem with mine. When the fan was on 1 or 3, the service 4wd light came one. There were a few other weird things happening as well. It ended up being the cabling that runs from the ignition switch down to the main bulkhead area. Check that out if the multifunction switch doesn't resolve it.
