well i just ordered a case of ATF on e-bay... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320691958353
since i found that my engine sounds were actually the flex plate bolts backing out... so now i've got to drop the tranny... might as well put the good stuff back into it... hope it gets here by saturday... i also ordered my corvette servo today, figured it would be easier putting it in when the tranny was down...

I looked at the listing and at that price with shipping you would have paid just a little too much for the transmission fluid. I also looked at the other Amsoil listings for that seller and they are also more than wholesale even with shipping. The easy way to check this out is to do the same thing and check the prices there and then go to the link below and once you get there click the link in the left hand menu that says "Preferred Customers SAVE". Add the trial membership to your cart. Once that is added go back through the products you were searching for and check the prices again. (Be sure to check the retail pricing as well before adding that to the cart) You can do all the checking you want without actually making a purchase. You can see first hand what it would cost to order anything you may want in the future and you have the ability to check sales tax and shipping rates as well.

Yeah but every where locally that sells it is a 45 min drive away and on the amsoil website it was close to 138.00 plus tax and shipping... so I'm ok with the price I paid... just as long as the transmission like the juice.... BTW our tranny need the deep filters right... there r 2 options that I can find... one is deeper than the other...

I was trying to be vague until my vendor tag was present. Although Amsoil doesn't really allow pricing talk in open forum, anyone wanting Amsoil should pm or email me before purchasing because I can get what you need for less than the retail cost, even after adding sales tax and shipping.

As for your filters, unless you have a deep pan from the aftermarket installed already you will want the shallow filter, otherwise the deep pan filter will block the pan from installing correctly.

If I ordered Amsoil to swap out all of the fluids what would I all need? Do I need special filters for any of these?

Front Diff = X Liters/quarts of 75W-90
Rear Diff = X Liters/quarts of 75W-90
Transfer Case = X Liters/quarts of ?
Transmission = X Liters/quarts of ?

Front Diff = X Liters/quarts of 75W-90
Rear Diff = X Liters/quarts of 75W-90
Transfer Case = X Liters/quarts of ?
Transmission = X Liters/quarts of ?

The other fluids you would want to consider that are available are coolant, brake fluid, power steering fluid, synthetic grease for the suspension.

Front Diff = 2 quarts of Severe gear 75W-90

Rear Diff = 3 quarts of Severe Gear 75W-90 same as the front

Transfer Case = 2 quarts Depends on your model of transfer case, some use DEX III-VI, some call for "Auto-Trac II", and some call for manual transmission fluid. PM me with the last eight of your VIN and I can look up exactly what it needs. Amsoil has a product look up guide, but I still need to know what transfer case is actually in your vehicle to get it right. And if it calls for Auto Trac II, unfortunately Amsoil doesn't have a product to match that one yet.

Transmission = You can use any one of the following three transmission fluids from Amsoil.

Synthetic Multi-Vehicle Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATFQT)
Low Viscosity Synthetic ATF (ATLQT)
Torque-Drive Synthetic Transmission Fluid (ATD1G)

The Torque drive offers the longest drain interval and is designed to meat TES-295 certification requirements set forth by Allison. But can also be run with great results in the 4l60e.

The Multi-Vehicle Automatic Transmission Fluid is a universal fluid that can be run in just about ANY transmission.

The Low Viscosity Transmission Fluid is suppose to offer gains in mileage and protection over the universal fluid. I cannot personally attest to that as I have not run that one. I use Torque Drive in the truck and have not changed it in the Kon, I think this one is what is going in our Kon soon.

The filters needed for the transmission would be:

WIX 58904 / 4L60E Trans Filter

WIX 58847 / 4L60E Deep Pan Auto Tran Filter

WIX 58836 4L80E Auto Tran Filter

WIX 58608 4L80E Deep Pan Auto Tran Filter

Once again, after you look at the pricing, pm or email me with the last eight of your VIN and your exact shipping address and I can build a quote showing either everything you need for the vehicle while also showing sales tax and shipping included, or I can build a quote for specific products individually.

Hope this helps you out, and I apologize if it was a little much. But I try to make sure all the questions are answered.

BTW, here is a link to the product look up guide that you can use to look these items up by your yr/mk/model. It also has a VIN look up at the top of the guide.

To follow up... I hear that most (all?) 4x4 have the ltd slip clutch in the rear diff and require the additive. I want to change my fluid as there is still noise back there. I have the 4x4 and the ltd slip. Should I also by the Amsoil additive or just skip it?

You can, it won't hurt to do so. However, it is not required. I personally have run the 75w-90 severe gear for years in my other trucks and never had an issue and let's just say that some of the loadsI have hauled with my trucks haven't exactly been light...lol
