I talked to local transmission shop about putting in a servo and he recommended against it. He basically said that by applying more pressure to the internal part (I forget the name) it can cause it to fail earlier and ruin your transmission. Anyone know if there is any truth to this?

I had the servo installed by a local transmission specialty shop in Ponderay, Idaho while I was visiting the in-laws. The cost: $40.00. And yes, there is a substantial seat-of-the-pants difference on hard acceleration. During "normal"acceleration from a stop, you just notice that the shift is firmer.

I went to a local shop that i knew the owner of, he dropped the pan replaced the accumulator and bored my boost valve out to increase the fluid pressure and put a corvette servo in for 300 bucks not bad considering I had all the fluid replaced and he had a servo... I love it!!! The tires chirp when your at 1/2 throttle to WOT ;)
