I don't think you are going nuts wreedps and think as well that you might have a compressor problem as i have a very similar problem. My problem only makes noise somewhere around the 1500 RPM range, especially after coming off of an idle, which chatters like a bad bearing/sounds like a sprinkler up close the way it chatters.

At first thought it was the idler pulley for the AC since it would go nuts (excessive movement) only when the AC is on that that noise would happen. Replace it even though when I took the old one out it still felt pretty good, noise and movement didn't go away! The sound is horrible, keep waiting for something to explode when it happens, the sad part is that the compressor continues to operate perfectly less the occasional horrible noise.

I'm doubting there is anything I can partially tear apart in the compressor to clean or fix anything and eventually I will need to replace it, but I'm searching around for anything I can try to fix the problem before I commit to full replacement. Will let you know if I come up with anything or make any progress!

Fault in engine performance. Not ac like stated above

NBS trucks even new had a slight vibration when ac came on

OK Dude!

So I just changed the plugs and wires with ACDelco Platinum and the vibration is exactly the same.

I think it is the compressor vibrating.

My plugs and wires needed to be serviced, so its not a loss, but I am just letting everyone know that was not the problem.

If you guys change your plugs and wires and unplug the coolant sensor make sure to plug it back in! My radio quit and ABS light came on until I plugged it in.

Very weird it controls the radio...

Did you install platinum plugs, or iridium? The new spec is iridium gapped at .040" as the old Platinums at .060" would cause rough running and economy loss.

Platinums gapped at .040 as the spec on the box and in my service manual.

Again really dont think its the plugs guys. Even if they are gapped wrong now, .040 was correct a one point I guess?

Also Please post a link to your statement above.

I was only making sure the old spec plugs weren't used, I'm out of ideas without actually seeing the issue. Clean TB (brush, don't just spray, blast iac port), clean MAF, check for vacuum leaks, run a professional injector cleaner through it, could be any number of things.

I am confused now. Are my plugs gapped correct or not? I have them set at .040 which is what they same out of the box. The box clearly states not to re-gap.

OK That is certainly what mine are set to. I checked them each twice.
