Well I picked up an 05 Tahoe. Ive been deciphering the RPO codes. It looks like it has HD trans cooler, skid plates, autoride, and a locker in the rear g80 (with 3.42's) amongst a few other things. The one thing I thinks weird...since it has the vin z and L59 it says its a gas/flex fuel v8 (flex fuel version of the LM7 RPO code). It does not say flex fuel on the tailgate. The vehicle as from what carfax says has never been in an accident, so I dont suspect a repaint but should there be an emblem on the rear tailgate saying flex fuel?
Thanks,
Kevin

mine doesn't even have a badge saying it's a Tahoe on the gate. for all I know it could be a Sonora!

seriously though? you've already checked. that is it, no special fuel caps, no fuel gauge cluster script, nothing like that.

I guess if you were paranoid you could go hunting for the expensive alky% sensor.

As ugly as those badges are, and are sodding rare as it is to find E85 in most states, it would NOT suprise me that the PO simply wanted the Ugly garish things off.

I've certainly insisted on a dealer debadging a car as a condition of sale before.

My 2005 which I know for a fact is a flex fuel truck, didn't come from the factory with any badges indicating it as such, or any "Dash cluster" script...

Mine is an 06 Tahoe. It also has the Z in the VIN. Nowhere on it does it suggest that its flex fuel but I can look at the parameters in the PCM and it does adjust certain parameters for the amount of alcohol in the fuel.

I've never actually seen any tahoe "advertise" that it was a flex fuel vehicle before the 2007 body style.. GM didn't have to gloat about how good there vehicles were, everyone just knew it ;)

Mine is an 02, flex fuel. IIRC it does say on the gas door, Little sticker on the inside. Other than the Z in the vin, you couldn't tell.
