It's interesting you say that ...

One thing I found out today is that the black plastic lower window trim on these trucks lifts right off the door. I mean if you lose one, you could literally walk up to another Tahoe/Yukon on the street, take it off and put it on yours. It's not adhered in there in any way. In fact it makes it stupidly simple to simply lift it and slide one of those flat metal things thieves use to jack open the lock.

The flip side of that is that it would be so simple to make a chrome replacement for those sill moldings that goes all the way across instead of those ones they sell which stick on the existing moldings and only go to the edge of the window.

I dunno, maybe everyone knew this already but it was news to me.

I thought I read somewhere that the Tahoe/Yukon doors are slightly different than the Escalade. Hence the reason the metal trim is different AND why our B Pillars don't have a natural ridge/line/shape to have them black.

I've never personally examined an Escalade so I might be way wrong. I just thought I read it somewhere before.

Wow that is crazy I definitely did not know that. The escalade window sill trim sits on top of the piece your talking about. So realistically a company could just make the same exact piece but make the molding fit a Tahoe/Yukon door versus the slightly different Escalade door. Then it could fit in the gap in the esky mirrors when doing the esky mirror mod for Tahoe's/Yukon's.

Felix, I think the esky chrome strip is part of the entire window surround:

Otherwise, if they were simple insert strips one could modify them to work on the other trucks.

Btw, you should go out and test this on your avy ... just walk over there and just lift the lower sill trim right off. :)
