Yes, with the truck running and in park, press the remote start button on the remote. You will hear the module make a clicking noise and the green indicator will flash. Now turn the key to off and pull it out. Get out and press the lock button to lock the doors and it will stay running.

Get back in the same way you would if you had remote started it.

In the winter, for quick stops, this is one of my favorite features! I use it all the time.

If it's really cold, you can also set it to automatically turn on at certain temps, like over-night, so it doesn't ever get too cold. Mine is set to turn on when the brain's temp hits zero, then run for 20 minutes. Interestingly, even when it's sub-zero, the very interior of the electronics rarely gets that cold, so it really doesn't run itself very often, but you can adjust the temp it does this at.

Another question for anyone who might know. I like to leave my car running if I am stopping somewhere for a few minutes. With this alarm, I cant leave my key in and lock the doors. Is there a way around this other than turning it off, locking it and remote starting it? Thanks guys!

It's called "Valet Takeover." It shouldn't require any special setup, it's a built in feature.

With the engine on and the key in the ignition, press and hold the start button for about 2 seconds. Then wait a few seconds, until the lights on the remote stop flashing. Then take out the keys. The car will stay running.

You can then exit the car, lock and arm it with the lock key. It will still run until the programmed run time runs out or you turn it off with the remote. Or you can unlock and disarm, get back in, put keys back in ignitiion and take off...all without ever shutting the engine down.I use this feature almost everyday, helps with the Texas heat.

That an interesting feature. Even with your cold winters it doesnt start too much? I think, if I remember from past threads, temps here and temps up by you are the same in the winter, easily -30 to -40. I would think it would be wanting to start all the time

Apparently the internal temperature of the electronics takes a long time to cool down to the ambient temperature. If it gets down to -30, it'll come on a few times during the night. I think it also has some sort of over-run limiter, so you don't idle through all of your gas by running constantly. The main point in cold-starting it is to get the fluids warm and viscous again, so it only needs to happen every 2-3 hours. What I really need is to install a block heater and an oil-pan heater, and then disable the cold-start function. It would probably save me money in gas over the course of a winter.
