Is there a way to see which gear your in while driving. Had a Expedition which showed the current gear by using a hidden button sequence.

No, not possible/available on the standard dash.
I would suspect this info is available via the OBD II port, but it is not avail in the standard menus of the instrument cluster.

I thought since I have the digital instrument cluster (22 Denali XL), there was a hidden method to get that info.

Kinda like the DFM....why isnt there functionality to determine if it's active or not!?

I was expecting to see a clear case where you can see your encased transmission gears working, like in my remote control truck. Oh well.
