So i installed my volant power core cai this past friday. I loved it at first, especially the sound. However, i started noticing yesterday and this morning that i get like a low rumble sound during low acceleration, almost like if it bogs down or boged down noice. I noticed this happens when taking off a stop at low speed, or when i'm cruising at a speed lower than 35mph. No complains under full acceleration though. I looked for air leaks but don't seem to have any. I must mention that i did seem to have like a "lack of power" before the volant. For instance: If i was rolling and needed to floor it, it took some time before it took off. However, i was reading somewhere in this forum and it seems to be normal on our trucks. Can this be the cause of that "low rumbled bogged sound'' ? Have any of you guys had this experience, and if so, is the a fix? Thanks in advance!

Check all connections. Any other issues or just the low rumble sound? Make sure you have the 09+ version.

The hesitation is a "characteristic" of the 6-speed tranny unfortunately.

Rob -- I have a Volant, and I also have a low rumble noise. But, I think my low rubble noise (and vibration, btw) is due to a problem in the rear, and not due to the Volant. Are you sure that this was brought on by the Volant install? I wonder if you have something "going" on your truck, too. I suspect rear or u-joint issues with mine, and not the Volant... But, who knows.

My truck also felt down on power. Still does, even with the Volant. I wonder if we have similar, non-Volant-related issue.

zed: JUST THE RUMBLE, EVERYTHING SEEMS GOOD. AND YEAH, I GOT THE CORRECT MODEL. I'LL CHECK CONNECTIONS AGAIN.

KM: I'M POSOTIVE IT'S FROM THE VOLANT. NO RUMBLE CAME FROM THE TRUCK BEFORE THE VOLANT CAI. I THINK IT MAY BE DUE TO THE DOWN ON POWER. SOUNDS BETTER AND BETTER AS I ACCELERATE THE SPEED. IT'S ONLY WHILE THAT "LACK OF POWER FEEL" WHEN I HEAR THE "RUMBLE."

Kirk: You think a bb tune may help me with the lack of power?i noticed your sig states you have a bb tune but still have a lack of power? And if you can explain how a bb tune works and what it does to ones truck, i will appreciate it, thanks!

I also have a 2011 Tahoe but I have a K&N installed. I get the same sound under the same conditions.

I have an 03 with a CAI, and mine rumbles at the low rpms too. Sounds like it's bogging down. I'm in the process of getting a BB tune, so I'll see if that does anything.

Now that all the restrictions are gone and the air flows better you will hear your engine actually sucking air. Installing a CAI also makes your exhaust louder, very noticeable on my long tube header and ORY TBSS?

What "bogs" our trucks down is the stock tune. The reason GM can give you a 100,000 mile power train warranty is because the computer controls how much TQ your engine Trans and rear end sees. Feels like you put nitrous on a truck or car when you take off all the torque management. My TBSS would not take off like it should until I reduced the TM by about 75%.
Ask your tuner to reduce TM and you will immediately feel the difference.
Tunes the best bang for the money. IMO

Rob -- the tune is not in the truck at the moment because I was thinking id be taking the truck in to the dealer soon. I only had a mild tune in the truck, but I'm going to specifically ask Justin to reduce the torque management, which I didn't specifically ask for before.

Mcm -- Is that what you asked Justin to do, to reduce the torque management? That's got to be the basis for my engine/tranny behavior woes.
