Voltage drop/alternator question

But looking back on what amp you are playing, I really dont see why you'd have hug dips in voltage. I have more power than that on a stock alt....and no issues.
Check to make sure your factory alt is working like it should, and you have good connections.

Exactly!! Check your connections and CLEAN YOUR MAF. There's a lot of guys on here that saw drops in voltage simply b/c their MAF wasn't clean and idle RPM was off.

When you check your connections, clean off terminals and also scrape some paint where the ground points are.

If you are still running a lower voltage after checking your connections, have your alternator tested.

and IF you havent, do Big 3 first and foremost, check voltage AT the amp when you are hammering it. See what the amp is seeing.

Did the big 3 over the weekend and it helped alot. Gonna go through and check all the connections.

i missed that, i thought you already completed the Big 3!! What gauge wire did you end up going with??

smart move - unless you are running huge power, 4gauge is perfect...there is absolutely no need to run 0g for most ppl.

Did you keep your existing wires and run the Big 3 in addition to current setup...or did you remove the factory wires? I personally recommend to keep the factory stuff in place, especially the factory grounds.
