be interesting on what final compression will be, with 64cc Vortec head on there. I'd use a Comp, but wouldn't ever use an Edelbrock cam. But that's me.

Hmm yea i never used any edelbrock either, but it worked good with the tbi?? i probably wont go with it, but thanks!

I had a similar setup planned out, I was going a lil more aggressive on the intake, was gonna do a Edlebrock RPM non air gap with a carb/TBI adapter and something like an LT4 cam with bee hive springs and Vortec heads. Should be fun if it can be tuned. :D

Im not going with chips anymore, ill be using EBL (http://www.dynamicefi.com/), you use this and hook it up to a computer and tune it your self.. Tuning it yourself means more accuracy then for brian to do it..

Ran out of $$$ LOL. After buying the long block I couldn't leave well enough alone, just couldn't bring myself to drop it in bone stock. Cam, headers, exhaust, twin e fans, CNC aluminum distributor, Vic Morse Throttle body, and all new accessories on to hang on the front of the motor adds up to a stock intake for awhile. Still looking at the Marine and RamJet intake swap for down the road. Interesting link on the EBL, I am still wrapping my head around the TBI/tuning stuff.

haha, thats alright tho. And yea tuning these TBIs is kinda far off my head. its something ill have to read up on every day and go from there. not something i specialize in that's for sure

That is a good price on them cams. :D

He doesn't say which springs those are, they could be the one year LS6 springs that are good to .525 lift ...

Google LT4 hot cam, it was a common swap for the LT1 guys back in the days when those were the hot engine. 218/228 .525 lift ROLLER cam. There are a few videos on youtube with idle sounds and what not, they are in FBodies but I'm betting it would sound similar in a properly tuned and setup truck.

I looked into that EBL setup too, pretty sweet. But the way I understand it, you will use some chip, whether it be a moded chip from Brian or your stock chip. The advantage I see with a chip from Brian is your base tune is gonna be all set (or pretty dang close), you just do the fine tuning. If you start with a base chip you have to do the base and the fine.

If you are going to start learning how to tune, it might be worthwhile to check out the electromotive tec3. They are showing up on ebay often. Just to get an idea, download their manual for the Tec3 and check it out.

The Tec3 is used on Nelson Racing engines. They are simple to program. You can do real time tuning on the fly as well. The day will come when you want to go up to eight injectors from the two. It is a simple selection on the "Wizard" to change the software.

Check the capabilities of the setup you are looking at compared to the Tec3. Just a idea. Doesn't cost anything to check it out.

thanks Twin, i was hoping you would give me some cam advice or something! lol You always give me the far and way to expensive stuff to look at haha like the TCI TCU tranny computer or whatever with the paddle shifters and shit. I admire your work man!

I've seen Tec3's go for half that. Just have to be patient. That one will probably come down a notch or two. It does have the uncut wiring harness that is worth something too.

I have a couple of older laptops I use for the Z and the Tahoe. The IBM thinkpad sits vertically in the space between the passenger seat and the console. I can whip it out and screw around anytimg. I buried a switch for the serial line in the dash so I can switch between the Tec3 and the TCU.

I know they are kind of pricey, but with your talent you should be in the big bucks soon. Give it a chance.

On the cams, I always have a friend of mine make a call to Custom cams. He relays what I want it to do and they make it up for me. I like lots of torque and power up front. There are a lot of cams that don't make their power until they are wound up tight. lol

I'm not trying to stir up trouble, just thought if your working on a winter project, you might just want to see what the options are. :)
