Ok, so i'm having no luck selling my denali, so i think im just going to keep it. to make myself happy with it again, im thinking of selling the 26's, taking the lowering kit off and putting a 2" lift with some 20's and 33's. I have disabled the autoride and put lowering shocks on it. I guess my main questions are:

1) who makes a good kit for just doing a 2" lift or can i just get keys and maybe spacers for the back?

2) what offset do i need for the wheels? (id like to have the wheels stick out about an inch past the fender) also, what about tire width?

3) what about shocks? or should i get a new compressor for the autorides and put those back on? (that was the main reason i put shocks on it in the first place)

i apologize if these questions have been answered, i didnt have time to search all the forums. also, i know these awd trucks can be a little funny, so would i be wasting my time and money trying to lift it up and off road tires?

For starters 2" and 33s and 1" offset will rub like strippers lap dance.

Now 2" and 33 tires can fit with stock wheels and a narrower tire. But to not rub you will want atleast 4" and 33s for any type of offset bc an offset you can think of it as basically a 15-18" wide tire on stock wheels. Give or take and those will rub the door side fender corner horrible. And the front bumper will eat the tire. So you need to decide a couple things.

Do you want 1" outside the body.
Are you limiting height for a particular reason.
Is small lift simply for financial reasons?

Few of us can help you. But what you want will rub I'll tell you that right now.

I want to stick with a smaller lift so the truck will still fit in the garage. I could maybe even go 3" (to be honest i havent measured the garage door height but pretty sure 2" would clear). I really dont want to spend a bunch of money just in case i get the urge to sell it again, which i get the new car itch about every 6 months lol. i dont have to have the wheels sticking out, i just like the look. my good friend owns a salvage yard and can pick up some factory 20's fairly cheap (mine came stock with the 17's) and put the tires on them. i dont really have to have a "off road" tire, considering 98% of its life is spent on pavement. was thinking maybe some BFG A/T's or Toyo's, something along that line. something that wont wear out in a week and doesnt make too much road noise.

Hear is a thought get the Denali 7 spoke 20s. (Nathan can chime in) Then I would do a 2, 2.5, 3" rear spacer and front keys. Best would be to do 2-2.5 as I feel a 3" key has a ruff ride. Then I would recommend the cooper Zeon tires as it is a great 90% hwy 10% terrain tire. With nice dirt, mud, snow ratings. Will give good tred life and good grip when rain. But still has a simi AT look without being an AT

Also with 2" I would run like a 275-285 width and a 31-32" a 33 will be pushing it to not rub without major trimming and then if you articulate any you will for sure rub.

The nitto terra grappler is a little more aggressive AT lower end but not as aggressive as a BFG AT and would be another great road tire for occasion off road.

I vote for either a 1.5" or 2" rear spacer on stock denali springs. Find a good set of used Denali 7-spoke wheels and then the Cooper Zeon LTZ tires (275/60R20 = 33x11R20). I can't speak enough of the tires and how well they look for the money and performance. Its super easy and looks great on the Denalis, take a look at my build thread in my sig. It will show all the pics of a twin kit to mine.

Well, I have to say for 1 that I have a 01 Yukon XL, and I just picked up a set of aftermarket 20's that are 285/60/20. Wish I could tell you the offset, cause they stick out just a touch and don't rub at all.......

Also, I used to have a NNBS with those cooper's and they were awesome. Looked good and got me anywhere I needed to go with little to no road noise. They also didn't wear incredibility quickly. Also remember them being one of the cheapest tires that I could find in that size......

isn't the stock tire size 32" tall for these rigs?

I believe your statement that 33" won't fit without rubbing/trimming/more lift...I'm just confused as to why?

My Escalade 2wd has 32" rubber and it looks like I can easily fit 33" rubber. Was actually planning on it. Now I need to do some more measuring. Plan as to keep the 265 width, but upsize to 70 series profile - 265/70/17 = 33" right?
The nitto terra grappler is a little more aggressive AT lower end but not as aggressive as a BFG AT and would be another great road tire for occasion off road.
I'd say the Terra Grappler is a crap tire personally. I have them on my Excursion in a 315/75/16 (35")...they are slicker than owl poop in the rain, and very loud. My V-10 is straight piped and I can hear the stupid tires most of the time. It's like having Mud Terrains noise wise. There is something inherently wrong when a 8,000 lbs vehicle can spin 35" tires that easily
