The first dealer's service was poor specifically because it was a Chevy dealer? Seriously?

Nahh I might a sucker for soft serve and leather sofas. Just saying the whole experience was all around better, and the GMC dealer rocked. (Dick Norris in Clearwater FL)

The dealer I bought my Tahoe is 20+ miles away. He also has a GMC/Buick store less than 10 minutes from my house. I take the Tahoe to the GMC dealer for service/warranty work and they treat me like I bought it there. Makes no difference to them.

Dealership experiences are more about the owners and GMs than the brand they're selling/servicing. I've been to terrible Audi dealers and wonderful Chevy dealers. Awesome and dreadful VW dealers. It's all about management and how they decide to treat customers and little to do with brand.

Haven't noticed any difference between the GMC and Chevy dealers here. But none of the GMC dealers have Cadallic at same location, so not sure if that makes a difference.

And GMC dealer service centers will not provide warranty work for Chevy vehicles here unless they sell Chevy at the location. Told me since their are several dealers of both brands in the city, I have to use make of vehicle dealer.

I'm back from the GMC dealership this morning, experience was a 10.

Dick Norris GMC in Clearwater FL - 5 stars

Dimmitt Chevrolet in Clearwater FL -0 stars, avoid at all costs

Agree completely that it's the staff and owners that makes or breaks your service experience!

We've been taking our GMC to the local Chevy dealer. The GMC dealerships around us are snooty and I don't like how expensive oil changes were there at nearly $90. The Chevy dealer? They run specials and I can usually get the oil changed for $40-50. They've also done warranty work on the GMC with no problem.

Funny that 20+ miles away for a dealership is far to you! There aren’t any car dealerships at all where I live. And god forbid I need a part that’s a GM dealer only part, I have 60ish miles and just over an hour of mountain roads to drive to get to said dealership for the stupid parts. Lol

You think a Cadillac dealer would readily work on a Tahoe/Suburban?

Took my wife's Buick Enclave to a Chevy dealer and all was done quite well and fast.

I recently started using a Chevy dealer near my work and their service is very good so far. Call backs, info before the work starts, accurate pricing, etc. (Ott Miller Chevy Caldwell, NJ)
