I will be installing the electrict fan mod on my 2004 Tahoe soon. 155,000 miles on the clock, runs well. Getting a P0171 code and have checked the obvious things first, so will probably be replacing the intake manifold gaskets. I've read that the water pumps are a week item on the 5.3 and am thinking of replacing it as a preventitive measure. Should I replace it with one for a 2004 or a later model style that is used for engines with electrict fans. My guess is it won't matter but I figured I'd ask.
Anything else I should replace while its apart?
