I'm gonna try steel wool on the sun roof that's where mines the worst... Regency where's your shop!?

Just at my place I usual just take the car/truck and wash and detail while the customer just goes to downtown Kirkland and comes back when ready they love it and the prices

Ok so i have been trying a couple diff. Things over the past couple days. My consensus is theres got to be a chemical stuff/paster that you just rub on there. the 50/50 water/vinegar mix washing the windshield with newspaper and then claybarring worked ok, you could still see quite a few water spots for my liking. Last night i used the "0000" steel wool and then rain-x'd the windows like from the second post which had the youtube video. This technique worked really well but it can take some time. It took me 2 1/2 hrs to do all the windows and moonroof. I had pretty bad water spots on my windows and you can still see a tiny bit of them which im sure you could get out if you wanted but that was enough time for me to spend on windows. They look really good, are super clear and water/towels/dirt just slide right off the windows. So i am happy with the outcome of steel wool just wish it would not have taken that long. Sorry for the long post but thats my thoughts on this so far.

Ok so i just saw the tahoe in the daylight, dont use on mirrored glass, right side mirror is a little scratched not bad though. I should be able to clean it up.

Bonus is you can use it on the mirrored glass, and metal chrome door handles and chrome esky rack without scratching. I only test a couple areas on my rack but seemed ok. I waxed the rack before installing so its not too bad. Sorry for the long post but thats my thoughts on this so far.

Yay my advice worked! Haha always trust detailers:hands:

Hey guys, great thread. FYI tonight I used acetone to remove sap residue from one of my side windows...scraped it with a straight blade and cleaned it with acetone...it worked great. I think I"ll be using 0000 steel wool for the windshield with rainex, but thought I'd pass along that acetone seems to get the job done too.

A tip that prevents water spots from happening on my truck is to flood the car after it rains I do it everytime and it if you have wax/detail spray it'll come off even easier and look better than every car out there even though it's wet outside

I did that once with my wifes new black Saturn. The next morning when I came out it was COVERED in water spots that didnt come off after washing it. I had to do a full detail on a basically brand new car.
