Water stuck in door panel? 2014 Tahoe

Oh yeah I know. When I first got mine the one door sounded like a fish tank sloshing around. I'm wondering what the purpose of those lower strips are. To keep road wash from splashing up? Do they help with wind/road noise? They are kind of annoying.

I'm pretty sure it's wind noise, or just a slight bit slicker in the wind tunnel.

I heard This water sloshing around this morning, Been raining pretty good last few days. Heard it when I stopped at a stop sign today.

I read that the water is supposed to drain through the door panels but wouldn’t that cause rust inside the door panel?

In cases like this, use a soft wire, pipe cleaner, or something similar to gently clear out these holes. Be careful not to damage the door or drainage system. Washing them with a little water can also help remove any leftover debris.

Multiple cleanings wth a garden hose running down the window and a paperclip and pipecleaner still re-clogged very quickly for me. Finally took out center plug and so far so good. Holes really are too small!

I heard a zip tie works well to clean out that drain hole in the corner.

Or like said, remove the oval plug and throw it away

You can't go wrong with fliud film! or formula 3000. That's what we spray in trunk lids. That bottom plastic strip does reduce slop from getting on the doors sill. Its a good idea to wipe the sill and that plastic with a damp cloth to fid it of grit that likes to wear on the paint. Especially in the winter!

Yup, I am religious about doing complete door jamb wipe downs after a car wash.

Blaster Surface Shield works well also and doesn't wash off as easily as Fluid Film

I had the same on my 2014 PPV. I pulled the weatherproofing strip off the bottom of the doors and the water poured out. I cleaned the plugged drain holes at each end and when it dried, sprayed Fluid Film in there. Not sure if there's a better solution.
