Thought about that but the color match is not absolutely perfect which is not noticeable on the badges but on something as large as the bug shield I think would be very noticeable.

I can't believe all the people out there that dislike the bug shield so much. After the road trip I will remove it and do like a 3M clear bra or something I guess.

But at least it would not be black and stand out on the white . Or you use some really good automotive paint it to match it perfect . That's what I would do

I think regardless of their shape or function, a lot of people see bug sheilds as a dated look. Yes, their function is absolutely great (unless you live in the snowbelt and it ends up rotting the bottom of your hood), they just dont look clean on the vehicle. And theyre usually reserved for the elderly people because at one point they had the straight solid plexi one on their 1982 Ford pickup.

Some time rocks get behind the bug shield and the hood and beat around and chip the paint then there is rust . But any how i would color match it to the rest of my tahoe like most people do with the window vent visors . But thats just me cause i work at a paint suppler and have the ability to do so

LOL, I think it's funny that this thread turned into how much everyone dislikes my bug shield, instead of how to platidip your WDT badges. I will just be removing the forbidden bug shield after my trip.

Thanks for getting the thread back on topic! Yeah, once you see how good it looks you end up just itching to do it elsewhere. Nice thing about plastidip is if it doesn't look good you just peel it off!

My Silverado is the same color but has the all chrome front end. Doesn't look bad but not my thing. Wish doing this would be a better match but thinking on smaller areas like the mirror caps would help get rid of some of the chrome

It is so close but it is just missing something... I didn't clear coat mine but if you do the clear coat it does seem a lot closer of a color match. But for a bumper I would just swap with someone who has a painted bumper and get it painted to match your truck. Let's not rub it anyone face but white diamond is the best color out there. I have accents of chrome that look great with the WDT but I agree a whole bumper would be too much
