Alright i have been having this weird ass noise lately in my car and idk what it is. It happens sometimes. My car makes a weird cracklin sound and its pretty loud. when i put it in park it doesn't happen and this happens when I am at a stop light. It can come up at different speeds to. Sounds like something is loose. Idk if anyone had a problem like this. I will try to make some videos so you can understang better. my car is a 03 tahoe with 30,875 miles on it.
Btw the transmission shifts very smooth so it can't be the tranny

Hey man,

Check the exhaust system for any loose sheilds, or parts. If its at a stoplight when it does it the most, I assume the tranny is in drive so the engine RPMS have to be lower than in neutral or park, and thats when the engine vibrates a bit more hence your "rattling" sound. Also check underhood for any loose parts or sheilds. Hope this helps!

Does the tone ever change pitch or change in any way with rpm's or speed?

it does it when it wants. Sounds like somebody is letting go of there brakes slowly that makes a sqeeling/ cracking sound but it does it when my brakes are applied to

End up it was the exhaust. It was pinched very bad and caused backpressure. Cut it off were it was crushed. Will get a new tip on it soon
