How hard is it for water to get in the cap? I was driving today and drove through a wall of rain. A few miles later my tahoe sputtered then died. Things that keep running through my head are either fuel pump, fuel relay, or a wet cap. Naturally, since it's the weekend, I can't get it anywhere to check the codes until monday. I figured tomorrow I can get a new relay and try that, but after that, I really can't do anything else until I can get it in a shop.

I'm gonna say ,, check the wire connector on the fuel pump. then the fuses for it. You should be able to reach your fingers in there enough to wiggle it. or poke at it with a stick . That is if you cant hear the pump running.

Does your fuel pump whine when you turn on the key? If not, then check the relays and wiring.

If it whines, check your ignition wiring.

Did it start back up? Is it still dead on the road?

It had spark and changed the fuel pump relay before I put it on a trailer. It ended up being the fuel pump. I trailered it into work and they are replacing it for me, for free (I just bought it there a month ago, I work at a dealership.)
