So I changed out my Clock Spring today.........twice actually.
Long story shot, I thought it would be easier to unplug the old one and plug in the new one as I go. That way I wouldnt forget where the plugs went.
Here's where it gets interesting. I got all the way to the last 2 plugs and I only had one. The Clock spring I had did not have the wiring harness that plugs into the steering shaft right as it enters the cab at the floor. I have no idea what that is, but the Tahoe would not even turn over. The lights would come on, but thats it. So I had to uninstall the new one and re-install my old one. Gotta send this back and hopefully get one that fits and has that connection.
Edit. I unplugged the connection and started the vehicle back up and a Service Stability light came on. S that is what that connection is for.
All in all, it was good though. I now know how to install a clock spring, but dang, I didnt want to spend all evening doing it.
