Think I need to replace the brake master cylinder on my son's 2004 but there seem to be 4 different part numbers. I don't know what brake system it has, JC5, JH5, JH6, or JH7?

Any help would be appreciated.

Is there a site I can enter the VIN to get this?

those look like rpo codes. open the glove box on the sticker there is a list of your trucks rpo codes. see if you find a match there.

This is turning out to be a big pain in the sack. So according the glove box label, the brake system is a JH2. According the dealer, the master cylinder is discontinued. I can't find the JH2 option on Auto Zone or Advanced Auto. Not sure what to do at this point.

The only difference I can see in the one's O'Reilly sells (have commercial acct) is that it wants to know hydroboost or vacuum, and then if it has JL4 active brake control. If you have a traction control switch then you don't have active brake control, if you don't have the switch then you do have active brake control (JL4 code in glove box). Let me know what you find. There are the 4 options....and then you can pick whether you want a new one with the reservoir (my recommendation) or without.
Soooooo.....that being said JH2 is apparently hydroboost would just need to know if it also lists JL4 or not...pretty sure an 04 would have it.
Also....why does it need replaced? Leaking?

Brake went to the floor, service light came on. No other indication there is a problem. No visible leak that I can find. I'm hoping the seals went bad in the master cylinder. It's not a guarantee, but it's a relatively easy fix before I have to have the thing towed.
