In that case.....maybe active brake control and traction control are different. That’s what I get for trusting the internet lol.

They most definitely are. The active brakes are the "enhanced stabilitrac" you can turn that off, too, by holding down the TC button for 10 seconds.

Think I need to replace the brake master cylinder on my son's 2004 but there seem to be 4 different part numbers. I don't know what brake system it has, JC5, JH5, JH6, or JH7?

Any help would be appreciated.

Is there a site I can enter the VIN to get this?

I'm afraid you had better look at your brake lines before you worry about the master cylinder. If you truck is anything like the others of that generation the lines are junk and need to be replaced. Ask me how I know.

I know this is an old thread, but I've been reading up on what part to buy, and getting some conflicting info. Found this list of RPO codes that folks might find handy:

https://rparts-sites.s3.amazonaws.com/dec399b0838336997484042ed2af1004/design/rpoCodes.pdf

I've got to replace my master cylinder, and my codes are JH2 and JL4.

JH2 BRAKE HYD POWER, DISC/DISC, 7,200 LBS
JL4 CONTROL ACTIVE BRAKE

And the parts at AutoZone are listed as either WITH or WITHOUT active brake ctrl, and one part is listed for the JC5 rpo code, and the other is for JH5, 6, or 7.

JH5 BRAKE HYD POWER, 4 WHL DISC, 7,200 LBS
JH6 BRAKE HYD POWER, 4 WHL DISC, 9,900 LBS
JH7 BRAKE HYD POWER, 4 WHL DISC, 12,000 LBS

I'm going with the Duralast pn NM4074A. With active brakes, and code JH5, 6, or 7.

Hope this helps someone out there.
