Thanks guys! Forgot another mod...mounted the new Thule box. It's the 625 Force XL. 17 cu/ft of space. Tailgate opens fully without any issues. Since we took a hit on cargo space going from an Escalade ESV to the Tahoe, getting a large roof box was a must. Plus my kids ski, so having the roof space is great.

Added LED lighting to the rear cargo area...No lights back there really at all. On /off was setup via wireless key fob/switch...Light strip came from superbrightleds.com.

Hey, that's a good idea. Got any more info? Hard wired? Stick on? Link to the unit you ordered?

The light strip came with 2 mounting brackets. You probably could just use double sided foam tape if you are uncomfortable with drilling holes. To wire it I simply wired it to the back side of the 12v oulet on the cup holder on the driver's side. You could buy a fuse tap as another option since there is a small fuse block back there. The light strip is just surface mounted...They do offer a flush mount version but I wasn't comfortable cutting into the headliner to install it. Also you could always replace the wireless switch with a simple toggle switch. Pretty simple install took me less than an hour.

Nice work on the rear light. I've had the car for month and the only complaint I have is poor interior lighting. My other vehicles have accent lighting that reflects light on things like door panels, turn signals, wiper controls etc. The Denali doesn't even have a light in the passenger side glove box.
