I can't imagine there would be too many differences in the stock tuning between the trucks and SUVs, but I gotta say the Suburban felt almost like a dog compared to my Silverado, stock vs. stock. Not like there was something wrong, but just WAY too soft on any of the responses.

Installed Diablo's canned 87 octane tune, disabled AFM and TM, firmed up shifts etc. yesterday and that thing now feels like it's from a different planet! Can't want to see what DiabLew tune does to it once I put that in there next week.

Next order of business was Airaid MIT and Elite Engineering catch can. Was also hoping to be able swap the belt tensioner but Amazon is running late. Sounds to me like the pulley is making noise, ordered AC Delco replacement.

Yeah, I need to clean the engine bay a little bit, too.

Changed belt tensioner and while some of the sound disappeared, I guess it’s time to change the water pump.

Pretty sure the bearing is shot since the pulley has probably 2-3mm play in it. Compared that to my Silverado and that thing doesn’t have any play whatsoever in it.

So... On to the next little project it is. Good that I didn’t pay a whole lot for it so it gives me room to fix these things.

Looks like I’m talking to myself here. :D

WeatherTech cargo cover just arrived. Once it’s all settled in, I’m sure it’s going to be great. My wife is a bit of a pig, you know... She already got close to spilling red wine in there. :doh2:

You have done a lot of work. Hopefully you are done for a while. I'm sure you saved some money doing the work yourself.

Haha! Still need to do oil change and probably will also do rear end while I’m at it. Just something I usually do when I get a new ride to get a baseline.

Tranny fluid has 50K on it, so might leave that alone for a while still.

In addition to fluids, rear shocks are the only ones on the list for now. And plugs. Then the baseline should be set.
