Installed my el cheapo Amazon catch can today. The line that comes with it was garbage so I picked up some 3/8” fuel line from the parts store. The hydro boost doesn’t allow much room to mount it like a vacuum booster, so I had to rig something up with what I had in the garage.

Not a great pic, my led work light battery died.

I was looking at these about an hour ago for my brother's truck. Amazon reviews said the same about the hoses. I know it'll be a while before you can post results, so what's your initial thoughts on it?

FWIW, the one I installed also came from Amazon. For the money, it's a really nice unit. A little smaller than some of the other ones, but in ways that's better for mounting room, and pretty much a non issue as long as you check/drain it regularly.

The only change I had to make is the hose barbs that come with it are too big for 3/8" hose which is what we need for our applications.

Initial impression out of the box is good. The fittings feel kind of cheap but they work. Mine came with 3/8” and 1/2” fittings with O rings. The can seals well but opens easily. I could do with a little more baffling but we will see how well it works. No drain plug but it’s small enough it will be easy to empty.

All in all it’s a decent unit for what I need it to do.

I looked at that one and like the 1/4-turn drain valve. This would be easier for someone like my brother, whom sucks at keeping up with maintenance. 5 ounces is small, but probably sufficient. I drain right at 3 ounces every 5,000 miles so it would work for me. My brother's truck is an '05, so there's a chance his may pass less oil than mine. Thanks for the link and input. I'll add it to my cart for comparison.

That's the idea I got from the pics and reviews. Like I did with mine, I'll probably add a stainless scrubber pad for more filter media. You answered my main concern- how difficult unscrewing the tank to drain is versus getting one with a drain valve. It's for a mechanically-deficient monkey, so ease of use is a high priority.

Magnet for phone holder.

i've had this for months, just haven't gotten around to hacking away at the console to install it to make the console tray a wireless charging pad.
