425 for a new dash. Damn i hope mine doesn’t crack

I hope not too. Mine had been cracked for a few years. The cracks didn't bother me that much but about a year ago, everything started rattling. The and the blower motor started squeaking. My initial solve for the problem was a 2019 yukon denali. After buying a new truck, I couldn't take myself to get rid of the ol avalanche. New blower motor and new dash, I'm back in business, new yukon to boot.:)

Most expensive fix for a new dash ever.

Ha! You should see how much a "new" dash for a 1977 Datsun 280Z costs! Hint: put a "1" in front of that 425, and you're almost there. That's why they make dash covers for them.

Someone needs to do the same for our trucks, as the dash cracking seems to be pretty common. Mine has a small one between the passenger airbag cutout and the windshield defroster vent. Looking at the install photos, mine would have to get REALLY bad before I'd tackle that project. For now, I'm hoping my reflective sun shield and relatively mild winter temps in SC are enough to keep it from cracking any more.
