Dogs are just like people--they have different personalities. Some are great and some are just a$$holes. I've had both.

In my experience, pet personalities can greatly be influenced by the people and other pets they live with. IMO, most dogs' natural personalities are fine. With cats, if you treat it like a cat- you get the typical "old lady pet": A lame, selfish, boring and useless loaf that's basically a crappy ornament that you have to feed and clean up after. Treat it like a person and/or dog and you get an entertaining ******* of a roomate.

So true. I've only had two a$$hole--personality wise dogs. I used to have a shepard collie mix--Wylie(non a$$hole btw)--really fun dog most times. Sucker was 150 lbs. He would watch tv with me. He was so big, he'd sit his ass on the couch with his front paws upright on the floor, watching tv. I miss that guy.
