What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I finally got around to finishing up my vacuum actuated exhaust cutout. I've used an electric cutout in the past that lasted about 2 weeks. IMO they are trash. If you're gonna get one, do yourself a favor and get one that's a mechanical vacuum actuated one. I'm gonna order a turndown and install it this week. And when the cutout isn't open, the exhaust goes through a Magnaflow 12909. I'll try to get some sound clips later today.

Awesome!!!!!! I don't think that would pass vehicle emission inspection up here up here in **** vehicle regulations land....

Did my first oil change since installing the Fumoto drain valve. Is it normal for it to take 30 minutes to drain the oil with this thing? I went ahead and punched a hole in the filter to cut down on the mess. It drains faster than the valve does!

I have read mixed reviews about those Fumoto valves. I don’t think you are alone. Many have complained about the drain speed.

No you can't adjust the opening, it's either open or closed. And since no one really made a vacuum cutout for 3.5" exhaust, I had to kind of Frankenstein parts together. I had to weld the cutout to the flange after I cut the flange down a bit and used butt joints to tie it altogether. I might eventually weld it all up. And I mounted the vacuum pump/remote relay under the cupholders in the center console.

Haha, yeah are inspections aren't quite that bad down here in Texas yet. Plus I know a few guys that barely have to look at the truck for a sticker.

Finished up chasing down some oil leaks. As of now, was only the oil pan and oil plug in the oil cooler line block that bolts to the side of the oil pan. So far no leaks but i'll have to check it next weekend. I changed the oil pick up tube seal and i didnt realize i had been driving around with lack luster oil pressure. I gained about 8 psi. I was pretty happy about that. I was getting about 20 psi at idle warmed up, now im getting about 28-30psi at idle. It cruises on the highway at about 40psi +/-. Did rear brakes last weekend, and found the rear axle seals are seeping. I'll do those next week. I hate leaks!

The speed I can deal with. But the real problem is the mess. In my area this time of year, if it's warm enough to do an oil change in my driveway, and it's not raining, it's windy. That tiny oil stream gets blown all over the place by the wind, leaving oil everywhere.

BTW, this was the first time I tried punching a hole in the filter before removing. I still had quite a lot of oil run down the outside of the filter when I loosened it. My truck is parked on level ground. So I'm not seeing the point of this either.

I understand about the wind blowing the oil. I have a couple large (4ft by 5ft) pieces of cardboard that I slide under the vehicle to keep the drips and splatters off the concrete. I’ve had decent luck with the hole in the filter cutting down on the oil coming down the side, but it never eliminates it.
