You have piqued my curiosity. Any links to information to support this?
i almost got hurt checking one out at a dealership your arm can get wedged in between the panel and seats very bad design..

they still have power folding seats on the newer ones i would not install one on a later one(the panel)

Hmmm. I thought you said that someone sued them. Maybe I mis-read it when you said “(they got sued)”. Or are you just speculating because a seat tried to eat you like the chair that whooped up on Snoopy?

a lot of times they get hit with small claims that never hit the news i would not install the panel there is a reason why it was no longer offered just like key start is no longer a option

I see. I guess I never thought of them as a risk as my four kids and the many we kids carpooled with were able to navigate them without incident on our 2007 and 2008 that had a middle row bench seat starting when my kids were 8, 6, 4 and 2. As I all reality, they seem to stall out pretty quickly with any amount of resistance, just like the power tailgate.
