I was gonna come visit you - but it doesn't look much better up your way!
At least the wind stopped blowing yesterday and actually is blowing slightly the opposite direction so the fires stopped progressing towards populated areas and now we’re gonna get some rain . There’s has been a couple small towns lost but it’s looking better. I had a nephew and niece who got evacuated and were worried about losing their houses but it’s looking ok now.

I've been seeing some scary headlines coming out of Oregon - it's pretty bad up there.

I’m just north of the level 1 green area. The wind had been blowing from the east at 20-50 mph for days. Crazy, we never see that wind in summertime. That’s usually a winter wind but also just down the Columbia River Gorge but this time it blew right over the top of the Cascade Mountain Range and across the entire state.
Edit: it hadn’t rained a drop here in about 3 months also.

I get so jealous when I see the Colorado and Wyoming boys talking about snow!

haven't seen blue sky here in nor cal in at least a month, it got nice and windy a couple days ago and it still wasn't enough to blow all the crap out
It’s been 3 days here, but they said maybe in another 3-4 it will clear up. It’s gone past the orange phase to where it just looks like dusk all the time. Pretty dark.
