Reinstalled the spare. I was gonna lube the spare hoist assembly and cable, but decided I didn't want all that mess in addition to having to change the tire next time I have a flat.
It all looked fine:
...And operated fine. I can turn the hoist by hand (using two fingertips with pinky extended because I'm a civilized Neanderthal):

they are called window sweep or window door belt these are the numbers for the front left & right, best price's are ebay or amazon, I bought mine from findlayautoparts on amazon, might be cheaper to have them painted also, the full set is going to be over $500

Not wet, just clean. lol
Gasoline dripped on it a few weeks back when I was replacing the EVAP canister and vent valve. Yeah- it had liquid gasoline in it. That shouldn't be there.
