the problem with the inner seals on the nnbs is the bottom part gets all torn up from getting in & out, never had that problem on my nbs, both driver and passenger side were tore up already when I bought mine and every one I looked at were as well, it doesn't seem to have gotten any worse since I have owned it and I don't think I ever step there so it must happen from short people

looks easy enough I think this seal has little plastic clips, mine has not arrived yet but I was looking thru the 11,000+ pages of the service manual and saw it, lol

Don’t over complicate it. Super easy to swap. Took me less than 7 mins start to finish. A1 1A whatever auto did a YouTube video on it. It’s the most simplest thing I done on the truck yet.

Why did you use the “wrinkle plus” vs. the standard VHT paint? Just curious if it’s because that’s what you had laying around, or if it’s something specific for alum/oxi. I’ve used VHT on the manifolds/headers and calipers before but never tried their wrinkle plus line.

It might be worth trying some of the 3M stuff. It definitely won’t cause any tear issues with future repairs.

That is completely unnecessary for the door seal! If you get the gm one it fits just fine. The only time I needed to use this was on the windshield seal for the vert top on the c4

Shit, I had a package sitting at the St. Louis hub (10mins from my house) from the 11th of December till the 21st. Original delivery was scheduled for the 12th. Had another here at the local hub on the 12th and not delivered till the 23rd

And while installing the valve covers yesterday.
I decided i might as well clean them up a bit.
No point to install dirty parts...

I thought for a moment about giving them a high polish, but went for a light brushed look using Fine grit 3M Crossbuffs...

Top picture you can see my AC flush tool that i used to prime the oil system... :D

I also replaced the oil fill tube, cap, oil level dipstick tube, and dipstick.

Went to remove the Oil Fill cap and noticed it's a one time use, lock tab breaks off! :D

And the dipstick would not remove for me when pulling the heads, it was a bit tweaked.
Found the local dealership had everything i needed in stock.
So i mangled the F out of the dipstick tube to get it out.
:greenchainsaw:

New one slid in after being well lubed.

What oil fill tube and cap did you go with?
