What max rpm you building it/plan on taking it to?

Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

My cam specs rated it from 1600-6400 rpm. So there is no real need to go beyond that.

Currently the tune is still in a safe mode aka only rev's up to 6000rpm. Now that my injectors are good and the valve springs are done, I can use that remaining amount of range. It pulls hard from 4500 up to 6000, then shifts.

That 3rd option for $2900 is a damn good deal.

I wouldn't take a Jasper engine if given to me........seen more failures of their stuff then I care to think about. Yeah 30 years ago when it was simple small blocks and transmissions they were great. I have seen customers go through 3 of their remans in 24 months. A warranty on shit, is still shit.

Thanks for the insight. Coincidentally my buddy’s cab company was buying engines from them 30 years ago. Pre-Uber, there is no cab company now.

This is just a quickie. There are quite a few guys that specialize in fleet remans.

A friend of mine owned a cab company (pre Uber days) and bought quite a few engines from Fraser, Jasper, etc.

A few offer AFM delete version of 5.3’s. I think it was the Fraser regional manager I spoke to who said they recommend the AFM delete option to their fleet clients.
Those are great prices but what does it mean when it says core charge TBD? That’s kind of leaving the door open but I guess you’d have to get a quote to find out. I see return core shipping is included.
Edit: now that I’ve read the posts about their quality I see why the prices are low. If I was building an engine I’d do it myself anyway.

wife gave me the thumbs up on the 6.0 idea, she just told me to fix it.

waiting till i get the engine out of the hoe, that and i need to pull our tax return from the wife's bank account (separate bank accounts = a happy marriage ;) )

Also going back and forth on if i Should.
might be about 1k extra cost to go with a new block and 6.0 that *****.

but on the + side,
I have the "sure my engine turned into a turd, but hey i went 6.0 out of it"

Decisions decisions..
:hmmm2:

now if i find that the block is damaged from a spun bearing or something.
then it's a no brainer.
just 6.0 it.
:D
