My daughter pumped E85 for the first time yesterday in her 6.2 Sierra and noticed the difference in power and smoothness of the shifting on the way home. And that was at only 59%!

There are lots of E85 stations in Louisiana, around Baton Rouge especially.
There wasn't any I could find using Gas Buddy app on the route we take. I-55 south all the way then I-10 East.

Woof. Its been a hell of a month. What did I do yesterday? Something dumb. Let me elaborate. I buy my oil and filter on amazon. Well, my phone broke, and of course thats when Amazon and its 2FA decided to sign me out on my computer, and I couldn’t sign in because I couldn’t get the confirmation text. Well, I could not sign back in to order oil and a filter. So I couldn’t change my oil without paying outrageous prices at the local stores.

Well, I got my phone fixed, but not before my catch can filled all the way up, (who knew they catch more crap when its humid and the weather is colder! DOH)
And so pressure built up in the crank case, and it pushed a bunch of oil past the rings, and burnt two quarts of oil. DOH
Third ef up: I didn’t have any of the right oil at the house. And I had to go to work. I got to make the choice of topping off two of the 6 quarts with either 5w-20 or straight up old ass 30 weight Delo conventional tractor oil, not even 5w-30 or 10w-30, not 15w-40, just 30 weight. Ugh. Its thick and it doesn’t like it. Oil pressure is a little high. Better than not enough oil but it really goes to show you how freaking dependent we are on phones. The two weeks mine was broken while I was waiting on the replacement lightning port to arrive were nice, things were simple, I wasn’t tethered to the idiot box in my pocket, but snap back to reality, you’re also dependent in Lord Bezos to keep your ride to work operational. Proper oil on the way, I’m changing that crap ASAP. Still runs good, knock on wood that after a proper oil change she’ll be right as rain.
Not good. A real shit storm there.:mad:

Yesterday (Tuesday) I replaced both headlight bulbs. Only the left one was burnt out though.

I didn't pull the entire bumper cover. Only removed the bolts across the top of the grill, and the couple in the front lower wheelwell fender liner so I could reach in and loosen that hidden headlight housing bolt. Then with the upper 2 headlight housing bolts removed the housing pulled and rotated out quite easily.

Took maybe 20 mins to do both, with my cordless ratchet and a 10mm and 7mm socket. You can get by without loosening the fender liner if you lay on the ground and reach up to get to that hidden headlight housing bolt.

Not much to it really.
Just understand that you MUST run the engine as rich as possible.
and i usually add more oil to the mix in two strokes.

example, leaf blower calls for 40:1
I run it 30:1

chainsaw calls for 50:1
I call that straight bs after my last top end, however it was probably related to nitromethane tests. lol

I now run that the same 30:1

Basics,
Nitromethane leans it out.
biggest issue I have with it, exhaust flow.
seems the more exhaust flow, the more i can run.
Then it comes down to the carburetor, you must richen that mixture to make use of the extra oxygen.

finally, heat.

I have a cheap laser temp reader, got it cheap off of amazon.
i try and keep the engine under 300F

if you had mad fab skills, i'm sure you could modify the head for some larger heat sinks to help. :D

oh and i rate my nitro to fuel mixture via 2 gallons of fuel.
so 3-4 capfulls for the little rc.

I have been able to successfully get 5-6 in my chainsaw and leaf blower.
but 3-4 seems pretty safe.

for lawn equipment, i drill holes in the mufflers to flow more.
I go slowly as to not fk with the way it runs too much.

exhaust out = you can add more fuel and more heat is outta there.


You can find pure nitro via ebay or amazon usually.
Toro racing fuels is my usual source.
Make sure it's 100% nitromethane

Oh and don't leave nitro in sunlight.
if your gas can has a cap, use it.
otherwise your fkn with your tune on the next fuel up. ;)

Downside is that the pure nitro must be kept in a environment that has a steady temp as to not loose its potency.
they recommend "room temp"

Understand that it's an accelerant, so some method to store it is advised.
