I plowed through a blizzard.

Here are some pics of the New England Blizzard this week. The Tahoe pushed it all like it wasn't even there. There was a solid 24" on the ground with drifts up to 6 feet. I even pushed through them.

When an Oil Change becomes more......

Took her in for an oil change a week ago, now it has become more...

1). Complete Head and Valve job

2). New Plugs

3). Waiting on Inspector for additional items

4). Oil Change

This due to the AFM going awry @ 120,000 miles. I suppose, I could look at this in a negative way, but after the work it "should" last for at least another 120,000 miles. I'm having the dealership take a "heavy" look at everything else while in their hands.

My AFM caused major issues for me at 135k. I then had AFM tuned out immediately after the fixes so that hopefully it doesn't cause any issues ever again. I'm glad that I did!! :D

I ordered new tails today

Burb, did you get better mpg by shutting it off? Even if not, do you think I should get justin to shut mine off? Always contemplated this just never really searched for results.

TBH it's been exactly the same MPG but I had him give me more of a performance based tune and I would say YES to having him shut it off. In our generation, AFM is completely useless and serves no purpose other than screwing things up. I also saw my oil consumption issue go away with it tuned out.

:waytogo: no problem :)

Last night I drove my dad's '14 Silvy CC and he's getting 17 MPG in the city. He says that AFM in this newest generation has vastly improved and can get up to 20 mpg on the hwy.

What's new about the new generation AFM?

I don't know the technical aspects to know the true differences other than from what he describes it acts much different (in a good way). It stays in v4 mode more consistently. He had a '12 Silvy CC before this one and he said he could tell when it'd switch between v4 and v8 mode but with his '14 it's much more seemless and seems to make a much bigger impact on getting better MPG than AFM ever did in the NNBS body style
