Car wash. The horror words. Never would I ever.

Where you taking the fam?
Actually a good car wash place. They replace the brushes regularly and are always on top of their stuff. Never had a scratch or anything wrong so far. Better than these touchless junks....

I would like to get Colormatched handles and mirror caps one day but that'll be when and if I find a deal to good to pass up on some. I'm perfectly fine with the black ones right now. And idk about the LTZ grill I really like the black mesh with the chrome surround. I actually really want the grill that cuts out the whole center bar and makes the whole middle black mesh

Sounds like a plan. To be honest, I did a double take on those handles and mirrors when Jacob mentioned it...I didn't notice that they weren't color-matched already. The black with the gray doesn't look bad at all.

To each his own on the grille. There are some really nice rides out there with the black mesh, but I haven't seen the one you mentioned that gets rid of the center bar, that would be pretty cool. So is the final look more like a Yukon? Do you have a pic of it?

Got her back today, running well and $4500.00 later. I really like the GMC dealer I have all my work done. I feel like the service manager I deal with is very fair, but I have a couple of gripes.

1) Engine Bay full of oil, maybe the set parts up against fenders. They said they cleaned it, must have used a water hose as it's all still there...

2) Plugs and Wires for $250.00....Ouch!! They needed to be replace, I had never priced them so it seems steep....

I just need to replace front shock and rear shocks. This should be bring it to a solid truck (compressor has already been replaced)

I mentioned to the Service Manager that he should put the Mrs. and I on his Christmas list as we have spent close to $10K with him in the last 60 days.

Well I was thinking of having the radiator flushed/service and oil changed, because of all this work done in the motor. The radiator fluid and oil change was done @ no charge....LOL

I have to find some humor on this whole thing...... Next Engine Bay Detail...
The Saga Continues: Chapter 2

So, I take it home park it for a couple of days....

My neighbor comes over and ask if I can help him out with an errand. I say sure, let's take the Tahoe to get some easy miles on after the heads being rebuilt.

When we stopped to get something to eat, we get back in hear what sounds like something hitting the brake shield on the right side while backing up. After a quick inspection nothing seems to have fallen off, back out again and the problem has seemed to have fixed itself (RIGHT!).

I say let's keep the windows and radio down to see if the problem comes back, there's a slight noise still coming from the right side, so I figured it's a wheel bearing gone bad just days after the left side was fixed. I'll take it in... No biggie...

I get back to my local dealer and ask if someone can take a drive so that he/she can hear what's going on. The gentleman says I hear something, but it's not what you think it is... Maybe wheel bearing, but I would not put money on it...

So, I say " let's put it up on the rack".......

1) Right front wheel bearing completely out...

2) Front Differential bearing has exploded inside and the
. Magnet inside is loaded with metal (the mechanic says " that's the noise I was hearing ")

3) Left rear shock leaking and bag looks damaged, should we fix it... Sure, why not just replace all 4, so that I'm not back next week.

4) They stated, they will do a full inspection before given it back to me... LOL

5) I asked them to check all suspension and steering components and advise and alignment just for kicks...

Sorry for rant.... But feel better and A LOT lighter in the pocket book!!!

I'm not ready to up on her, but at this point she's going to be completely rebuilt...

The Mrs. does not seem to share in my compassion to the Tahoe....

**** To someone considering purchasing a similar vehicle, just have all things mentioned checked prior to purchase and buy a really good extended warranty, at some point it may need to be replaced *****

Maybe, luck would not be so bad either.....

The thing is, this thing is a garage queen!
Plus, it makes for good reading. Maybe the Mrs. Is taking her out for a Baja Run on the days I'm gone... LOL
