What’s missing in this photo? This isView attachment 346209 the FSCM or FPCM that runs the fuel pump. Located under the floor just forward of the fuel tank. My shop manual says there’s a cover over the module, but mine is naked.

If anyone’s familiar with it or may care to post up a picture of theirs?

I am trying to decide of it’s anything worth seeking out to replace if it provides any real protection. Or is it just a flimsy cosmetic cover? Or maybe it was never there? Thanks for any feedback!
I have probably watched 10 different YouTube clips on the FPCM (FSCM) in our trucks and never saw a cover over one. They were all sitting proud, waiting to get hit square from a bouncing rock... :)

There wasn't anything on the one on my 08 Silverado but that truck is far from stock. maybe someone else has messed with theirs.
From my research the pickups they locate it above the spare, where it’s relatively protected. And then for some reason on the Tahoe platform it’s on the cross member under the driver. Facing forward to catch all the gravel and crap spraying from the front tire.

My fear precisely. In the lower part of my photo you can see the cross member it’s mounted to is bent. That was before I owned it. I’ll be making a skid plate I think.

Yep. When I was doing my search for the FPCM (aka FSCM, FPDM, they call them different things so people won’t get confused ;)) in my Yukon, I searched high and low (hence all the YouTube clips on the module). Once it became certain they were on that cross member under the drivers seat in the Tahoe/Yukons, that was when I realized I got gypped. The 2007 MY used the 2006 fuel pressure management design, with a fixed regulator in the fuel pump assembly in the tank. :(

But yeah, at least I don’t have an electronics bit in the line of fire. :)

It is odd and I tried about everything I could think of. The sound works becauseI can source it with the head unit and play it over the speakers in the truck but I can’t get it to go over the factory wireless headphones. I can hear sound with the DVD we have in.
might want to check the audio cable from the game console on a tv to verify it has sound?, nothing muted?
