So those would just act as a spacer on the lower control arm where the strut mounts? Would the sway bar end links be effected?

VERY minimally. Not enough to notice or worry with. But, if it bothers you, I'm quite sure there are some stock replacements that would be ideal. Maybe stock ones for a Z71.

Did you happen to measure yours before and after? According to your pic with it backed up to the trailer tongue, it looks more like a 3" rear drop. What shocks you have?
No I did not measure. I usually leave the coupler about an inch off the ball when I drop the trailer. The shocks are just plain factory style with the drop brackets, nothing fancy.

I gotta say I been practicing planning for this so I haven't smacked my head on the tailgate yet. :)
