Replaced the lugnuts on the Yukon. I had swapped the OE wheels a while back with some newer wheels and didn’t have capped lugnuts. Decided before winter gets here, I should get capped ones in there. Went with these…..

I bought the same lug nuts but in black for the new wheels. They were delivered yesterday. I figured they were only $25 for the set and will give me time to look for better finished ones.

The center caps are chromed and have the longer fingers. I can't find brushed looking caps with long fingers, only chrome. I thought about black caps with chromed GMC.

Yup! Found the piece of wood laying on the ground next to the truck. Couldn’t hit the ******* next to me. Or the ******* that took my spot the next day! I’m just grateful it didn’t take a side or rear glass out. Here is a pic of the hit/ricochet on the B pillar.

A friend offered to undercoat my GF's & my cars yesterday at his home shop, so we spent the day at their house drinking, and being merry.

I asked him last minute if he could help me change my ATF filter and do a fluid change, so that's also up-to-date. Easy to get the pan off with me prying down on the exhaust with a long pry-bar while he pulled the pan out.

The fluid was old, but not burned up, and the magnet has zero chunks. He said it all looked really good overall. We drained the fluid w/an evacuator, refilled, and drove on the highway twice to cycle 4 gallons of fresh ATF (Valvoline maxLife synthetic) through the valvebody, coolers, and torque converter. Although not a true flush, the fluid now looks fresh and clean.

Her car is still amazingly clean underneath, and a unibody (VW Tiguan) so it was easy/quick to spray. We just had to undo a few plastic underbody covers, and zip-zap, done.

Mine was a little more involved. And took 2x as long. I sprayed the heck out of the undercarriage, but the frame coating has been sloughing off since I bought the truck, so he had to alternate blasting the metal surfaces with compressed air, then undercoating, then going back over everything as the metal soaked the Fluid Film dry.

$300 for both cars (and my ATF service) so I'm happy. Best part was he spent over an hour removing the 3M adhesive tape, and buffing out the front of my hood where the old bug-guard has scratched the bejesus out of the clear coat, for free.

I'm guessing that the TPMS sensors should be turned to the orientation in the first Pic rather then the second? It places the housing closer, flatter, and out of the way.





These are the GM (Schrader brand) sensors I get for $11 each. The manufacture date on all 4 of them are September of 2022, so the batteries should last the lifetime of the tires

Good question! I always kept them close to the rim to aid in mounting the tire. Haven't had any issues. Curious of the proper position though!

First pic is correct. I just installed new TPMS sensors in my 22s less than a week ago. Why didn't you tell me you could get Schraders for $11 each?! I got a set of Chicom specials off Amazon for $40. They had good reviews and my friend has been running them. They look identical except for the white printing. They have that star, the frequency and some other info. I can't make out the date stamp. They programmed fine and seem to be reporting accurately so far.
