Sounds like they do the removal of DOD from the tune as well. :patriot:

That's on thing i was about to mention.
If you know someone with an hp tuner dongle, I can help you remove the AFM crap.
It's not hard at all.

Just remember to kill the codes for the DOD sensors if you also delete the valley cover.
With someone else doing it that knows what they are doing, it's even easier!

Yeah they completely erase the DOD from it. They use HP Tuners so it will get tuned via that, and its all included in the price. Then they said they'll strap it on the dyno, do a drivability test and tune, and even clean up the shift points. They didnt mention anything about the valley cover, but I would assume its included in the delete.

I told them ive love a 91 or 93 tune but i spend too much in rural ass areas fishing and exploring that I need to stay on an 86 tune for the sake of finding gas at times.

well...its a lifter.

thought it was the TQ or flexplate since we could hear the bellhousing making noise but shop found a failing one. They also gave me what seems to be an insanely high quote.7400 for lifters and cam if it needed it or 10k for a new motor....i can sure spend alot of my time working on it for that much money

Jeebus! Did you take it to the same shop as @FINALTOUCHFRI?!

I have a guy that did it to his...
even dropped the GM 6 speed in there. :D

I'm probably going to drop in the same engine, I might get away with a minivan short block.

But there might be some title issues, i'm hoping to work that out tomorrow.
If I can get it free and clear I'll try and buy it tomorrow.

Then have it towed home, I don't think the engine has much longer before it kabooms. :jester:
