took 88 there and back stopped in pine grove at Gianninis for dinner haven't been there in like 20 years, price was decent $106 for a full course meal for 5
had one guy on the way back doing a pretty good pace in a accord (i think) but I am a challenger so he let me pass him and then stayed behind me for a while but couldn't keep up lol funny I'm pushing a 6000+lb tank thru a curvy mountain highway and nobody can keep up?
around 8 hours of highway driving and still sit's on 10.1mpg :driver:
I usually get a little better mileage thru the mountains but passed a bunch of boats near the end that probably wiped out any gains I had

8h drive at 10mpg hurts my soul. your kids better love you for it lol.

I haven't wanted fire works that bad since I was 10 and my parents wanted to smack me because I wanted 10$ worth of jumping jacks haha.

Went for a drive.... nothing fancy. No work today so I loaded up some broomsticks and went up a Class 6 road to some power lines to find a quiet spot for stress-relief.

We've had a ton of rain lately, and the "road" is usually doable in 2wd, but it was so wet/muddy I actually had to twist her into 4-Lo. After that it was slow and smooth.

I don't know if it would make a mess now that you cut the filter hole. but I've used one of those cheap pump sprayers with some water in it to stick up in there and spray out the dirt and stuff from the core. it didn't have enough pressure to hurt anything and not enough volume over flow the drain. even thou I won't lie I've used a garden hose before inside to spray them out haha. but I didn't car much about that old car.
I use some evap cleaner and a long hose attached to the end of the cans nozzle. Soak the hell out of it and then run it to clean out all the build up. Be sure to have a catch pan handy.

Your text auto corrected to broomsticks, and I was wondering wtf is he talking about? Is that the nickname for his wife and mother in-law?
Then I saw the photos. Boom-sticks! Got it…

when I was a kid a lot of this stuff was legal but that's all changed depending on where you live, I have always enjoyed blowing things up lol not in any kind of menacing way just for fun. light and run is the rule....
it's a annual trip for about 20 years now, a couple of times I picked them up in washington state instead while visiting family the tribes along the coast have them and seal bombs, those are fun. Also one trip to New Mexico as soon as you cross the border there is a huge warehouse with lots of fun stuff! never have seen any like the one's in Tijuana though but you couldn't get those across the border if you tried.
even a trip to the east coast was sketchy they are legal in one state but not the next I bought some I forget where and was driving and didn't really think much about it until I went to light some off and was told the closest place was Pennsylvania so off I went lol, crossed the border lit them all off and took off for New York the states over there are so small, drive down the road and you went thru 3 states already.....lol
as far as mpg. that's all I ever get doesn't matter what I drive, even if its a little 4 banger I will only get minimum mpg
the more you push the big pedal the less mpg you get and I am just not a slow poke

going to take a trip to Yellowstone next month I expect I might get 12mpg when it's all said and done but likely less, will probably vary along the way places like Idaho is sketchy to speed thru, lots of little 1 stop sign towns and bored cops with a 25mph limit where there is literally not a soul in sight

funny, I don't think I've lived In a state they have been illegal, there's always some work around where you can buy them but can't really light them off but it's over looked 2 nights a year. maybe why I never got into them much. no one told me I couldn't.

here it's not illegal but they ask that you not to because it's so dry you get fires if you look at the grass wrong.

I guess I drive really slowly. I got 13 on my last trip towing a car on a trailer and was a bit bummed cause I was expecting more like 15. but the buddy's with diesel said they only really get about 12-13 towing in real life, the same trip too, so I didn't feel as bad.

I've been wondering if I open the exhaust up a bit and the intake if I could stay in high gear more while towing and do better. high rpm just wreaks mileage and my tranny is very happy to increase rpm if you ask for more power

I don't think opening up the exhaust will do anything but make it sound different.
gearing might help like 3.73 4.10

I just grew up with fireworks always had firecrackers because you can get tons of them for cheap, neighbor across the street had a real cannon he was a pretty cool old dude with acres of old cars all over his property and he could care less if we explored all over, he would fire that cannon off and man that was fun times.
nobody complained, was def a different time period
