PENDING: I'm going to explore the wiring harness in my B pillars hoping to have my rear speakers work right after I install my new cigarette lighter bezels and the USB mod. Now just to find a few shade trees to park under. Gonna be around 100 today. Can you say Sweat?

Well I got the Mod finished, I'll update my build thread later. I think my speaker issue is in the radio itself. I found the harness under my console and I checked for signal voltage and I couldn't get any readings. I moved to the rear radio and couldn't get any readings although I can get sound through the headphone jacks. Looking at the wiring diagrams it appears that there is a separate pair of audio signal going to the RSE along with the speaker inputs and outputs. Check the harness in the B-pillar and those wires looked as good as new. I guess that the rear channel of the radio is gone but the last thing I am going to try before buying a new radio is go ahead and cut one of the rear speaker leads and hard wire a speaker for a test. Hopefully I can just run some wires.
