Well today I finally got off my winter deadass and got my cargo carrier mounted.

This bad boy retails for 250, and its the Pepboys brand but theres a funny story behind this craigslist purchase. The guy didnt have the keys for it, so he drilled out the rivets from the lock to get inside it. In addition, he didn't have the mounts for it either. He wanted 100 bucks for it, but I offered 50 to which he accepted. About 5 minutes of online research and credit to etrailer.com (they're the best!) and I found these cases were made by Thule. Annnnnd you can order new keys from etrailer for 5 bucks a pop. So, I got the keys sent to me, re-riveted the lock back on, and bam good to go.

Last was to figure out a method of attaching it to the luggage rack. I thought maybe some flat iron would be simple enough but that would bend too easily...so I went with perforated angle iron. Spray painted black to match, I have 8 matching pieces, one for each side of the luggage rack cross member, and bam its totally good to go now. Going to roll around with it on for a few days to make sure it doesnt loosen or anything like that.

Man I love your Burb Derick
Good score too haha, looks great.

Anyone replace the rack bushings before? It feels like its going to fall off.
I know there's a thread around here somewhere but I cant find it, tried just about every topic I could think of with no luck.

Yeah I went back to the muffler shop and had them add a small magnaflow style muffler in front of my existing Jones performance muffler.

She sounds about like she did before cat removal now.

Gotta get some miles on her so I can log and get my tune updated to compensate for the headers and new exhaust.

Boy, I'm falling behind! I knew you had bought the headers, did not know or forgot that you put them on already. Did you get to measure any performance increase before doing anything else?

Disassembled the front bumper cover to go get painted, took about 35 minutes to get it off and completely apart, didn't know the bottom chrome grill was one piece it looks like two but it's not really until you get it off the cover.

Does that lower chrome grill only attach to those 2" horizontal slots?

Mine has chrome peeling off and I either want to get it re-chromed or replaced and wondered what all is involved to remove it.

the bottom grill is one piece consisting of the chrome part and the black plastic around it that also goes around the the tow hooks, so you have to pull out the black plastic tabs on the black plastic part and then there is clips on the back and also on the outside edges of the black plastic, I almost broke it taking it apart until I realized it was just one piece

And well, after reading further, you remedied that problem. The wife hates it, but I'm used to it at this point. Sound deadening would be nice along with new carpet since mine is trashed.

Yeah... I'm still not certain that I made the right decision.

Adding the second muffler definitely toned it down to where it is tolerable.

Kind of wish I would have left well enough alone and saved the money... lol

I can't really tell that it made any really difference from a performance stand point.

If anything I feel like maybe it lost a little bottom end... which is what I was trying NOT to do.

What are your thoughts on that. Do you feel like you lost any torque/bottom end by going catless???

No not really... they were put on last Saturday and I went to church Sunday and had the cats removed Monday... lol

that sucks. RC makes a nice diff drop kit and shield but wont/dont sell them separate :(

cognito* rather was the only company that was any help when i swapped front diffs. the rest of them just punched shit into a computer to try and look up parts with make/model (same thing i was doing on their website without any luck) just to tell me they could do anything
