I’m trying to understand how they get fatigued and break. It should be stationary, right?

Being repeatedly heated and cooled tends to fatigue certain metals - then add road vibration and high speed wind gusts and you get the picture.

The vibration from the road and there is no support for the 90 deg angle bend.

I would buy a replacement but I bet it would break in same place...

mine ain’t brokeded

Edit: Yet? 93k and counting

I'm thinking there are wind currents back there that make it flap around a little, probably such a small amount that you can't see. Over time, it fatigues and fractures. Mine broke not long after I did my resonator delete. I had bent it for clearance then bent it back, so I just assumed that's what did it. Now I see it was a combination of both. I fixed it with a piece of galvanized steel from a fuel tank heat shield:

Still holding fine 44K miles later and still no corrosion from the differing metals, as I was warned about by some members long ago.

So work got nuts on Friday night. 2 of my drivers broke down out in Harrisburg PA, 30 miles from each other. The CO car was in the shop for routine maintenance. Jump into my Tahoe to get the guys that are stranded without a way back home.

Trucks are repaired and I head out again in the Tahoe with my drivers to get the trucks back to the office.

Now my Tahoe is throwing codes. P0158 code and running like shit. It’s pissing rain out and hot as hades! Perfect!

I’m pretty sure it’s a 02 sensor? Can anyone tell me which one? Post cat which side, are there anything else that could be throwing the code?

Mother f-in piss bucket. Suck ass weekend that I was supposed to have off!

No good deeds go unpunished! I am in Pa. Where are you? Remember you are an essential worker!
