Thats my trick.....finally unloaded all my vacation crap out of the back and put my sub's back in, only took about a month lol
Silicone and duct tape itWell, so much for trying to save a few bucks. The reman steering rack I bought from Rock Auto is leaking already. Gonna crawl underneath there shortly and figure out where its coming from but initial indications are it's coming from the boot on the driver's side and not the lines.

Update: it was the lines. The new fluid is so clear that I couldn't be sure until I crawled under there with a light. Sure enough, the lines were leaking at the rack inlet so I torqued that down again and hopefully that will take care of it. Phew! Sorry to throw shade at Rock Auto earlier.
I took it for a longish test drive over lunch and the steering tightness is much improved. I can tell it needs an alignment though. Even though I measured carefully the length of the original rack and the distance between the jam nuts, and adjusted the tie rods accordingly, it still feels like there is toe-in on both sides. I have an appointment tomorrow morning for a front-end alignment which should get it squared away. Also, when I got back from the drive there were no more leaks, as far as I can tell.I was going to ask if it was a line leaking, but you figured it out!
