Got the alignment done this morning and as I walked toward the truck parked outside the shop running, I could hear an irregular metallic ringing sound coming from underneath. I popped the hood and listened in the engine bay, but no dice - it was definitely coming from the passenger side bell housing area. So I went back inside and talked to the manager. I was careful to say that I didn't think it was related to any of the work they'd done, which he appreciated and with that, he asked his guy to put it back up on the rack for a listen underneath.

The mechanic and I were both stumped, so I asked if he had a stethoscope. We each listened to everything under there with the engine running and as near as we can tell it's coming from the starter area. I'm familiar with what a bad flex plate sounds like and this definitely wasn't that. A little Google-fu when I got home, and THIS is exactly the sound I'm hearing. Thankfully I happen to have a brand new AC Delco starter on the shelf, and will install it ASAP.
you don't want to macgyver it back together like he did :emotions33:

I bet the driver from the little white car doing the Cali stop is still picking foam out of their ass after seeing you "casually cruising" along. :driver:
hopefully, I am glad she stopped I have managed to swerve enough to avoid others before but dang, that corner is bad anyway even though it's a big intersection many cars are driving thru there just as fast as I was so you have to look 3 or 4 times before pulling out.

Hey Wes, did you buy or convert you gauge cluster? I really like that look of the white face and blue leds - that is pretty slick looking.
ya I bought the ppv cluster and then I ordered a white overlay for it then I had a local guy change the leds and needles.
the overlay took like 3 months to get it's nice but not made for led's, the ones made for led's have a different style of film used so the led's look right from behind instead of having bright spots
