I painted my hitch cover. I swear every time I order matching paint it comes out slightly different, but maybe it’s the way the light hits it. Also, in case anyone is interested in doing a retrofit I posted some sweet H1 projectors in the classifieds.

It can be. You can remove it and inspect it. Could be full of dust or lint on the contacts. I cleaned mine up and slapped it back in it's been fine for 3 years or so.
Does that switch kill the throttle? And, if it's sticky, would it cause a lag in throttle response after lifting off the brakes and hitting the gas?

No. It’s just a brake light switch. The reason it disables the cruise control is because the CC relies on a signal from the brake light switch as one way to disengage the cruise and if the BCM sees a fault in that switch it wont engage the cruise for safety reasons, otherwise if the cruise was engaged and you hit the brakes it wouldn’t disengage and you’d have a run away vehicle unless you could not panic and turn it off manually.

I'm running through the logic tree of why there is a delay when I let off the brake and hit the gas, but the engine doesn't respond for .5-1.0 seconds. It's annoying, and not normal, no matter what anyone else says.

I ordered a new TPS today, so we'll see if the 2008 TPS is the culprit.
